Esittely

Join us for a weekend of learning and building connections at Ruka!

We are happy to invite members of the international Next Gen community to join us for a weekend of inspiration, learning and building connections at the annual Winter Academy.

The theme of the event is 2020 Vision with a program consisting of keynote talks, workshops and real life family business cases. What will it take for family businesses to grow and thrive in the future? How can we build success sustainably and responsibly?

On Friday we will take a seminar day trip to the nearby Oivangin Lomakartano (Oivanki holiday mansion). The program on Friday includes  the family business story of Oivangin Lomakartano Oy and engaging group workshops with the experts of EloFenniaOP Financial Group and  PwC. On Saturday, the seminar continues at Ruka with an inspiring keynote "The Future of Growth" by Anssi Rantanen, as well as compelling Next Gen cases by Brigitta Deák of Biofilter Environmental Co and Lauri Voipio of Vaisala Oyj.

Stay tuned for more event programme updates as we get closer to the event! On top of the seminar program, there will be plenty of opportunities for winter sports, enjoying the nature and building connections that will last a lifetime.

Sign up today and join us at Ruka for an unforgettable adventure!

Puhujat

Anssi Rantanen

CEO, Growth Tribe Academy, Finland

Anssi Rantanen is a growth marketing expert, serial entrepreneur, and public speaker. He is interested in the omnipresent shift towards a more digital and integrated world and has helped over 50+ companies implement and execute growth strategies during a 3-year career at Google. Anssi Rantanen has also founded 3 companies in the last 10 years. He is a growth coach for startups and corporates and is currently CEO at Growth Tribe in Finland, an education company that teaches companies the skills that they need in order to succeed. Growth Tribe is Europe’s first and leading Growth Academy. The company empowers people and companies to rapidly gain new skills in areas such as ‘data-driven growth marketing’ or ‘A.I. without code’.

Anssi Rantanen learned whilst at Google how the fastest companies in the world systematise their growth. His time at the company gave him a unique perspective on the future of growing companies. At Google, he worked closely with 40+ Finnish marketing organisations (from scale-ups to corporates), which gave him a unique birds-eye view of the growth capabilities and processes of companies today.

Rantanen believes that the future winners emphasize learning and self-directed teams. He’s noticed that many of the large companies lack the ability to take risks. “At the 100 000 employee size Google was still taking risks and being entrepreneurial was celebrated. There continuous learning was inherent in the culture, whereas most other corporates don’t embrace similar values” Rantanen says.

Brigitta Deák

2nd generation, Biofilter Environmental Co, Hungary

Brigitta is working in the family business since 2013 as a marketing manager. She graduated from Modul University Vienna with an MBA diploma specialized in Sustainable Development. She has a passion about sustanability and eagers to help other businesses to find their true purpose. Currently she is on maternity leave with her baby girl, Mira.

The family business, Biofilter Co. was founded in 1990 by Brigitta’s father and mother as a 2-people company and for now the company has close to 100 employees and 4500 partners nationwide. The activities of Biofilter are supporting the bioenergy industry:  they collect and process used cooking oil and food waste from the HORECA sector which can be used as raw material for biodiesel and biogas plants. The company’s mission is to keep the collected organic wastes in circularity and recycle them to become valuable products. In 2018, Biofilter became a proud member of the B Corp movement.

Brigitta is a member of the FBN NxG Leadership Team and the Polaris Committee.

Heikki Kilpelänaho

Founder, Oivangin lomakartano

In order to honour the traditions and legacy of past generations, Heikki and Tuula built Oivangin lomakartano on the same ancient dwellings where the Sami people used to live. Today, also the son Kalle is working in the family business and continuing the story and fine traditions of Oivangin lomakartano.
